Name: Jodi Komitor

Hometown: New York City

What it means to you to “be present”: To be present is to be in my dharma ~ teaching yoga to children. I never watch the clock or wish I was somewhere else, I am fully in a be present state of body and mind.

Favorite items from be present: Oh so many … my wardrobe is filled with an abundance of colorful be present goodies. If I had to choose my favorites, I love the Seamless Ribbon Halter, Micro Modal® Dancer Cami, Renew Elite Halter Shirt, Racerback Hemp Tank, Tree Scarf and the Renew Elite Lounge Pants.

How you got into yoga:

Like many children, I was exposed to yoga by my parents when I was 15. My parents were doing yoga on the dock of the bay in Fire Island, New York and it looked so peaceful that I jumped right in. From the very beginning I was hooked. My mom took me to Kripalu on retreats when I was a teenager & by the time I was in college at New York University, age 17, I was taking yoga classes with Cindy Lee at Crunch Fitness in NYC.

Who/what inspires you?

That’s easy … kids! I love their in the moment attitude, innocent thirst for learning & innate connection to one another and nature.
